Privacy, Conditions and other information

All records are stored securely. The information provided by you or obtained from other parties (e.g. General Practitioners, Allied Health etc.) is regarded as confidential and cannot be released unless a release of confidential information has been signed.

Everything you share with me and discuss in our sessions will be treated as highly confidential.

While there are a few circumstances in which I may be required to break confidentiality (see below), we would generally discuss this before deciding how best to proceed:

  • If I have strong grounds for believing that serious harm may occur to you or anyone else

  • If your records have been subpoenaed (requested) by a court of law

  • If another party or agency has requested your information, and you have agreed and provided me with your written consent to this

  • If there is evidence of child abuse, neglect, or sexual abuse of a person under the age of 16 at the time of the appointment.
